Why is smallville not in syndication

What if Smallville was on all day like That 70's Show? Yeah they are usually sitcoms I don't mind shows that I like It feels like X-Files are on all day!!!! I love That 70's Show! I was watching ABC Family and there was this commercial to promote the new year and there were a lot of Smallville clips.

Does that mean it's gonna be on again soon? SV have been re-running all the way from the Pilot to the the very end. It's YTV ch. I'm in Vancouver, for those wondering where they can find this. Currently we're two episodes from the season 2 season finale! Originally posted by mikepro44 yeah , too bad it doesnt go to season 5 episodes, i watched before on ytv, on my second pass now haha You're right. I mentioned that YTV is running episodes from the pilot to season five and I was mistaken.

As I understand it, YTV won't have rights to season five until the start of season six as CityTV and Space retain those rights until the start of the new season can't recall where I read that. YTV wasn't able to run season four episodes until last fall, at the start of season five. YTV, thats strictly a canadian channel right. From problems behind the scenes to the tragic futures of some of its stars, the truth about the series still continued long after its final episode.

Fans of the current DC Comics series Gotham may be shocked to learn that the show could have been in almost two decades sooner. Plans were actually in place to develop a show based on the life of a young Bruce Wayne. This show should would have followed a similar concept to Smallville; Bruce would not be shown in costume during the show.

Instead, the idea of focusing on a young Clark Kent was proposed, leading to the eventual development of Smallville. Luckily, the plans for the young Bruce Wayne story finally came to fruition and was developed into the Gotham series we have today.

When developing an established comic books series for television, often certain aspects of the story tend to get changed. Understandably, some fans are not so forgiving about some changes to their favorite characters.

When the cast was announced for the upcoming Smallville series, some fans were shocked at the casting for characters Lana Lang and Pete Ross. In the comics, Lana was depicted as a redhead and Pete was a blonde. As the show progressed and gained in popularity, the fans, in turn, came to accept and appreciate the character changes for the show. Early in the planning for the show, showrunners decided that they did not want Smallville to be a depiction of the Superman fans are used to.

Instead, they wanted to focus on his humble beginnings as a young man growing up in a small town. However, as the show progressed and Kent became more confident in his powers, fans still hoped to see Welling in the iconic suit. Unfortunately, at Welling's request, that idea was nixed entirely.

According to SyFy. As with many long-running TV series, viewers often had to say goodbye to their favorite characters on Smallville. Whether due to firings, new projects, or stale storylines, many actors will step away from a series despite their popularity. Both stars managed to appear in every season without any absences during the course of the show. In fact, Tom Welling remained the only cast member to have appeared in all episodes of the series.

No days off for the Man of Steel. Though fans and writers wanted to include more lines and scenes for the role, Jones would eventually be written out of the show during season three. He made a brief appearance in season seven but the character was not brought back to Smallville again. Following his time on the show, Jones faced several scandals and legal problems.

After a dealing with a sex tape that was released earlier in the year, Jones was brought up on charges of conspiracy to possess illegal drugs with the intent to distribute in He eventually pled guilty and was sentenced to days in federal prison, though he only served ten months.

Another familiar problem with long-running shows stems around changing personnel behind the scenes. Many TV shows have had their original showrunners and producers leave for various reasons, including differences of opinions or changes to the project. Or just replace those characters an continue Smallville.
